While working for construction and project management companies in the Netherlands, he was a project manager and supervisor. He also worked for NATO in Germany, which explains his fluency in both Dutch and German. His work included preparing major renovation projects involving apartment buildings and army property, and served as on-site liaison with both architects and consultants.

Ownership of his own consulting bureau honed Bert's strong management skills. His company managed building contracts, prepared technical maintenance projects for institutional organizations, and performed professional home inspections. His skills were in demand for assessing structural damages and planning renovation projects, including some in Kelowna and Penticton.

Bert now applies his considerable background in architecture, project management, property management, and construction to the commercial real estate market.
